LBNA Shouldn't Be An Afterthought

From: (sileagle@windstream.net) | Date: 2017-11-13 13:34:02 UTC

I heard somebody posted on AQ that people should occasionally check LBNA for old clues and it made me sad to think it has become an afterthought at best for most letterboxers. I might be in the minority, but LBNA is still my first and main stop for all things letterboxing, and with all the upgrades Choi has made it is not just a repository for old clues. Hopefully there are others out there that feel the same way so it does not become a footnote in letterboxing history.

Same. I only look for clues on LBNA.

LBNA is always my first step! I just wish I had more time for Letterboxing.

Also, a shout out to NY State Letterboxers!!
Thanks for the great stamps and clues!!

I use both.  Also, when I log a find and it’s on AQ and not on LB I email the owner and ask them to also list it on LB so that I can log my find there as well.  In my mind I am trying to gently push people to use LB and make boxers aware of LB if they aren’t already.

Sadly, this is happening in Missouri. Around here, so many of the LBNA boxes are really old, not maintained, owners can’t be found and/or are scouts with store-bought stamps, that some boxers list on AQ first and then maybe on LBNA. If they DON’T want newbies to find their stuff, they don’t put it on LBNA at all. Since this is the norm for the active players around here, I often forget to look on LBNA until later.

Plus, when traveling I use the AQ option to print multiple clues at once…. For my last trip, I didn’t have time to research before leaving, so I dumped all the clues into Word, did some quick stripping out of unnecessary stuff, printed it out and read through it all on the plane to decide where I wanted to go.

I actually wish there was a better way to share information between the two systems. If nothing else, a “list also on the other site” option. I just think it doesn’t serve our hobby as well to have two. If you want your stuff to be found, that is. I do, so I try and put them on both.

We list our boxes on both sites but with a "twist".  AQ is a link to the clues on LbNA where they are checked for "Members Only".

I list on both now, since many were not getting my clues.  But, actual clues posted only LBNA, with link from AQ (thought it may bring more attention to LBNA).  Still prefer LBNA, and it will always be my #1 stop.
